Things That Don’t Really Matter

by Eden on May 13, 2013

We spend too much of our lives caring about things that shouldn’t suck up all our energy and time.

You might disagree with some of these, but here’s some things I think that simply don’t really matter:

1. What someone might be saying behind your back

2. What the people you don’t like think about you

3. What the people you don’t like post on their Facebook status

4. Facebook in general

5. Your SAT scores past the age of 18 (seriously, no one cares)

6. A screenshot of a text conversation you had and posting it on the interwebs (REALLY, no one cares!!!)

7. Garnishes

8. What kind of car someone drives

9. How many followers you have on Twitter

10. YouTube comments (you do know all the mean comments are probably some 12 year old prepubescent boy that hasn’t touched boobies, right)

11. How many times you finished school (its more important what you’re doing, not what you did….unless you’re a doctor, of course)

12. What’s fashionable to wear

13. How much money your friends make

14. How much money someone has

15. Whether your “family” is actually blood related or not

16. Pantylines (I know ladies out there will disagree with me, and that’s cool. They don’t matter to me and that means I have one less worry than you. So I win.)

17. Finishing this list on a witty note

What do you think doesn’t really matter? Feel free to share.

I agree to every single one of these.

One thing I think people care too much about is the past – and it really doesn’t matter. Some people cling onto things that happened (whether it be relationships, things they’ve done, loved ones lost etc) and in the process stop themselves from being/doing better in the future. You should never live in the past when you have so much ahead of you.

Another thing that doesn’t matter? Those freaking iPhone apps that track your exercise? Every morning I see all these women and men stopping for 20 minutes at the beginning of the park, programming their iPhones – and then stopping every so often to check their phone. JUST WALK/RUN gosh darn it!
