I can barely move and literally (yes, literally) stayed at home for the past few days.
I did nothing productive but write this post, which really isn’t that productive. Its actually kind of pathetic.
Oh well.
Here’s things you do when you stay in home sick as an adult:
1) Tell Everyone via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
Just don’t actually see anyone. Stay quarantined and soak in the alone time. Don’t infect others you germy cesspool!

2) Google “What Do I Do When I Have The Flu”
And totally get frustrated that for a billion years, its the same shit (fluids, rest, soup).

3) Watch TV
I caught up on season 2 for “Girls” (aka, Lena Dunham porno)
And if Girls isn’t your thing, Family Guy never fails.
4) Feel Guilty You The Most Physical Activity You Did Was Cough
Seriously, if I wore a pedometer, it would’ve read “hahahah” by the end of the day.
What sucks when you’re sick is that your eyes are read, you’re lethargic, and everyone then assumes your high.

Only you have little to no appetite.
So the lack of physical activity doesn’t sound so bad. Go ahead, pedometer, laugh all you want.
5) Vow to Always Purell the Shit Out Of Your Hands and Take Vitamin C Everyday from Now On
And totally break that vow once you’re all better and continue to gamble with your health forgetting how terrible it is to be sick. You’ll get right back to licking your fingers, touching all sorts of surfaces, and choosing beer over an Emergen-C.

Because, you know, YOLO (and that will be the first and last time I ever use that acronym).
What do you do when your home with the flu? Do you take time off work? Are you “good” about being sick and taking care of yourself?

I once was knocked on my butt with a really bad sinus infection. I left bed that day to go to the doctor, pick up a prescription, and buy soup. When I was in bed that day, I watched the entire final season of “Monk” on hulu while my cats came and snuggled with me.
have to literally be crawling on the loor before i surrender, then columbo reruns, judge judy, most black and white ilmscary grant greg peck audery hepburn etc and to wake me up the theme to 80 fame and eye of the tiger! get well soon
I wish I did more when I’m sick but I generally just sleep until I feel better enough to be awake without consciousness being painful.
I have more “oh crap I think I’m getting sick” patterns. I start chugging vitamin water, using Zicam, and guzzle gallons of water. This actually works decently to fend off illness for me, although the benefit from the vitamin water is probably more mental than physical…
Zicam is amazing, no? Ny/Day Quil works well too. I just HATE the taste of water as weird as that sounds. I usually just do tea and ginger ale in times like these.
found your blog by googling “eating disorder recovery blog.” (my name is also Eden) i’m currently in my “germy cesspool.” only took 1 day off, should have taken 3 but things seem to fall apart when i’m not at work. i generally sleep, a lot, when sick. when not sleeping i watch loads of daytime t.v. i generally don’t feel guilty for being lazy, obviously my body needs it. push liquids in general and try to nourish my body with whatever i can stomach.
Holy butt balls! You have the same name as me!!! That happens once in never! Awesome.
As long as you take care of yourself, do what you gotta do to get better. Get well
My husband and I were both sick a few days ago. It was kinda nice once we felt good enough to watch some movies (made me watch the second and third Die Hard movies) together and take care of each other. I never feel guilty of the inactivity, like you said there’s not much food to work off anyway haha. I def take a day off from work if it’s needed. I usually drink lots of hot lemonades (hot lemon and honey water/tea), bring hot bottles and a huge duvet where the TV is and just lay there.
I have been sick for over a week now (either vital laryngitis or bronchitis the doctors think). I took a day today, and it made a difference. I’m starting to feel a lot better.
